Recipe : Lemon tea bread


Ingredients for Lemon tea bread
1/2c.Milk
1c.Sugar
1 1/2tsp.Grated lemon peel
1tsp.Baking powder
1/2c.Chopped pecans
2 Eggs
1/3c.Butter, melted
1 1/2c.Flour
1tsp.Salt
1/4c.Sugar
3Tbsp.Fresh lemon juice

Preparation :

Pre-heat oven to 350F. Grease loaf pan and set aside. In large bowl, combine milk, one cup sugar, eggs, butter and lemon peel. Beat at medium speed, until well blended. Add dry ingredients, beat at low speed just until moistened and mixture is smooth. Fold in pecans, pour into loaf pan. Bake 45 to 50 minutes, or until toothpick comes out clean.

Meanwhile, combine 1/4 cup sugar and 3 tbs. fresh lemon juice for glaze. Place bread, still in pan, on wire rack to cool. Slowly pour on glaze, while bread is still hot. Let stand for 10 minutes, in pan. Remove bread completely and place on wire rack.
