Preparation : Roast chestnuts over a slow fire. Do not allow them dry up or color. Remove the shells carefully.
Place them in a bowl, and pour in the rum and sugar. Set fire to the rum and baste the chestnuts constantly as long as the rum will burn. Turn the chestnuts about so they will absorb the rum and get colored.
