Recipe : Fish chowder


Ingredients for Fish chowder
2Lb.Fresh fish
1qt.Potatoes (cut in pieces)
2Tbsp.Bacon drippings (or other fat)
1Onion (chopped)
2Tbsp.Corn meal
1ptMilk
Crackers

Preparation :

Clean and wash the fish. Remove as many bones as possible. Cut it into six to eight pieces.

Brown the onion in the bacon drippings.

Layer fish and potatoes in a pot. Add a little browned onion and corn meal to each layer. Cover with hot water and boil gently until the potatoes are tender.

Next, add the milk and continue heating until the mixture is hot again.

Garnish with a few broken crackers before serving.
