Recipe : Scalloped apples


Ingredients for Scalloped apples
2cBread crumbs
2Tbsp.Butter
3cApples (cut into small pieces)
1/2cSugar
1/4Tsp.Cinnamon
1/2Tsp.Nutmeg
1/2Lemon (juice and rind only)
1/4cWater

Preparation :

Heat and melt butter on a stove and introduce breadcrumbs. Mix well and remove from stove.

Mix remaining ingredients together.

Put one quarter of the breadcrumb mix in a buttered baking dish, next one half of the apple mixture, next one quarter of the breadcrumbs, followed by the remaing apple mixture and finally the remaining breadcrumbs.

Bake 40 to 60 minutes (until apples are tender and crumbs brown), in a moderate oven. Cover during first 20 minutes.

Serve hot with sugar and/or cream.
