Recipe : Vegetable chowder


Ingredients for Vegetable chowder
1/2qt.Stock
2Slices lean pork (cut into small pieces)
2Tomatoes, fresh or canned
1c.Rice
2Tbsp.Dried beans
1Tbsp.Peas, fresh or canned
2Onions

Preparation :

Put the slices of pork into the stock. Add tomatoes, onions, and rice. Boil until the rice is cooked.

Next add beans and peas and cook a little longer. The soup will be ready when it is thick.

This chowder can also be made with fish broth. Add some shrimp (remove shells) for that extra touch.

This soup can be enjoyed hot or cold. Lean pork slices can be replaced with a ham bone.
